Chapter 7 - Clone interlude

Liv tries to tell her mom that she should go to her boss and beg to get her job back. But her mom do not seem to listen. Instead she is intently focused on her food. Liv does not mind though. After that heated phonecall some days ago her mom got everything had become much less stressfull around the house. Hermom had tried to explain to her when she asked, but she had not trully understood. Something about a grant running out and no research anymore. As she had time for that now anyway now when she was a mom. Still worried though she had asked:
-Does that mean we have to move, mom?
-No honey, we will not have to move. We just have to make our money on our own thats all. The house is ours to rent for as long as we want.
Liv sighted of relief.

Liv lives a pretty normal life she feels. One of her favorites is to play with he siblings. They might be green, but they are still lots and lots of fun and to be honest - she has never known anything different so why should there be any difference?

She loves to read, especially scary novels. When she starts reading a book she just can not put it down. Which gets her into heaps of trouble  of course. This particular day she ran very fast though and got there in time.
Her homework she tries to do at the local library. That is the only plays where she truly feel that she can get some peace and quiet. Back home there is always someone tugging at her skirts, begging for attention. At the library she can get everything done in one go.

Which means that she can have some fun when she get back home playing with her younger brother Ulv. He may be younger than she is, but he is great to have around for the fun stuff, like pillowfights.
Another great thing with a younger brother is that he is the naughty one, so he is always the one geting scolded by their mother. After than nothing Liv does seems that bad.Which is good although she feels bad for Ulv getting into trouble all the time.
But he is not all bad Ulv, he loves to play with his younger siblings just like Liv does. He can sit for hours playing peek-a-boo or making faces with the girls and their youngest brother Thorn.

And he is a kind, although impulsive soul. One afternoon at the festival park he found an abandoned turtle on the ground that he immediately adopted. He used his weekly allowance to buy a terrarium for it and called it Shelly. Although he was not entirely sure that she was not a he...

I have begun to love to start developing and investigating the character of the children in this story. To start with I had a pretty solid idea. But theír actions clearly tol me otherwise.

When it comes to what happened to the institute I realised I had to change the story down the road due to my own incompetence. I had before had this vague idea of actually making Rose manage both a large family and gardening, and science AND nectar. Which as you have noticed was pretty darn impossible. So I had to creat a plan -B into why they kept on staying in that house.

  1. It's nice too see the kids being kids.
I guess it makes sense that they stopped her funding, because she hadn't given them what they asked for, so don't worry about it :)

  2. It's nice seeing the kids grow up and develop their personalities. Younger siblings are great for blaming everything on!

  3. The kids are fun!
Shelly can be a guy's name as well, though it's not as common as it used to be. Still, Shelly the turtle probably won;'t mind either way. =D
